"The developed application meets all European standards and was built in record time," said Ivaylo Filipov. It has a built-in QR reader that validates the certificate quickly and easily. It can scan all versions of the certificate that are approved by the EC - for vaccination, for recovery and for a negative result of NAAT or RAT test.

The application is available for public use for citizens and institutions that have mobile devices with Android operating system. It can be used to verify the certificates of visitors to restaurants, halls, cinemas, theaters, sporting events, etc. The app is expected to be approved by Apple soon, and can be downloaded to devices running the iOS operating system.

Information Services now offers digital certificates in PKPASS format, which allows anyone to store their document in a wallet application on a mobile device. This facilitates citizens who will not have to carry the paper version of the certificate and for the verifiers who can easily and quickly verify the document.

A total of over 1.4 million certificates have been generated so far, with over 530,000 being used effectively by Bulgarian citizens when traveling abroad.
