Information Services Jsc was a Gold Sponsor at a conference on the topic „Conscious Voters in the Digital Age”. The event was organized by the Association of European Elections Officials (АСЕЕЕО) and was held for 26th time, this year for the first time Sofia hosted the meeting.
During the two-day conference the Chairman of the Management Board Prof. Mihail Konstantinov presented the company’s activities and outlined the main challenges it faces as a strategic CEC (Central Election Commission) partner in Bulgaria. Since 2003 till now Information Services Jsc has been the IT partner of the state in conducting presidential, parliamentary, local elections and referendums, Konstantinov said. The company employs over 300 highly qualified experts in 26 regional offices across the country.
„As the main partner of the Central Election Commission we work together to create conditions for electronic voting in Bulgaria through voting machines and over Internet”, said Prof. Konstantinov. „We are facing new cyber threats on a daily basis and this calls for effective solutions to fight them. The company also develops mobile apps for voting, as well as a training platform for teams involved in the election process“, he added.
At the roundtable discussion on „Digital solutions for supporting the voter’s choice“ the Information Services representatives initiated conversations on topics such as transparency and traceability of computer processing during the election process. Special attention was paid to the possible threats connected to the electoral processes digitalization and to notably changed conditions recently for ensuring the information security that reflects on the maintenance of confidence in the electoral process.
