All ЕU Digital COVID certificates for booster dose against COVID-19 will be regenerated and can be downloaded from the National Health Information System (NHIS) portal at https://www.his.bg/ as of December 20, 2021, according to Order №RD-01-1031 / 15.12.2021 of the Minister of Health Prof. Asena Serbezova, who approved the new patterns. This is necessary because the European Commission has changed the way the number of booster doses in the EU's COVID-19 digital certificate is indicated. According to the new requirements that will be in force as of January 1, 2022, the two-dose vaccines booster dose will be marked in the certificate as „3/3“ and respectively the single-dose vaccines booster dose will be marked as “2/2”.
All the citizens who would like to download a European certificate in the new pattern can visit the NHIS Internet portal after December 20, 2021 at https://www.his.bg/bg/dgc. They need to enter PIN, ID card number and National Reference Number (NRN) of the booster dose or the number of some of the previously generated certificates.
Until now, there was no unified EC position about booster dose marking in the ЕU Digital COVID certificate and every country could take their decision how to mark the booster dose. Bulgaria as some other European countries has adopted the approach to mark it at the two-dose vaccines as „3/2“ and at the single-dose as “2/1”.
The common EU marking revaccination rules introduction requires reconfiguration of the European green certificates generating system, developed by Information Services under the contract with the Ministry of Health. “The vaccination certificates issued so far will continue to be valid in the EU, even if the booster dose is indicated in a different way from the new rules adopted” the CEO Ivaylo Filipov said. Until now, nearly 195,000 European booster dose certificates have been generated.
The total number of issued certificates and documents through the National Health Information System (NHIS) is nearly 6.2 million. Of these, a total of 1,856 million are European green vaccination certificates with authorized vaccines. The total number of recovered corona virus infection certificates, which are proven cases with a positive PCR test result is over 276 thousand and the documents for recovered COVID-19, proven with a positive antigen test result is nearly 130 thousand.
The system has generated 2.747 million negative PCR or antigen test certificates, which are valid 72 and respectively 48 hours from the culture collection. The total number of the documents for SARS-Cov2 antibodies, proven by a laboratory test, which were announced on November 11, 2021, already exceeds 230 thousand.
